1. Munnar

One of the well known hill stations in India is Munnar which i s located in the southern western Ghats in kerala . Munnar is famous for tourism and also for tea ,coffee plantations.Thousands of people come to Munnar in order to get a feel of the picturesque climate.The overall city was surrounded by waterfalls and beautiful mountains. we can easily visit Mattupetty Dam which is 11.3km far from Munnar .
The climate of Munnar was breezy and pleasant.The best seasons for going a trip to this town is between the months of October and March.The summer months are mild while in winter it was cool.
This town is famous for its natural surroundings.Most of the tourists who came to visit Munnar were also excited to visit Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary,Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary .

2.Wayanad 

Wayanad is one of the famous place to visit which is situated in the north eastern ghats of kerala surrounded by lush green,sloping plains of spice plantation, while you are making a plan for kerala  tour means you have to include wayanad as a tourist spot.
On the Deccan Plateau on its southern side with the Western Ghats passing through it ,Wayanad is located.And it is accompanied with lush , tropical forests, rolling slopes through which a number of rivers flowing across,charming climate ,Wet and evergreen forests with enchanting waterfalls, river streams, lakes and vast stretches of plantations, all these make Wayanad a must visit hill station in Kerala.

3. Idukki

Idukki is surrounded with a spectacular landscape as 97 percent of its area was covered with mountains and forests ,In Malayalam Idukki means narrow guage.It is home to more than 13 peaks which exceed a height of  2,000 meters. This landlocked region is girded by the rivers of Periyar, Thodupuzhayar and Thalayar and their tributaries. Also known as the Spice garden of Kerala, it is famous for elephant rides, plantation tours, gushing streams and valleys. Idukki Dam, world’s second largest and Asia’s largest arch dam, across the Periyar river powers Kerala with one-third of the state’s electricity. Kuravan and Kurathi are the two huge rocks between this dam. Another famous attraction, Hill View Park, offers view of Cheruthoni and Idukki dam spread over 105 sq. Km, at 450-748m above sea level, Idukki wildlife sanctuary is home to Sambha Deer, Porcupine, Malabar Gaint Squirrel along with variety of snakes and rare birds. 

Idukki is protected with number of areas Periyar Tiger Reserve, Chinnar WlidlifeSanctuary,Thattekad Bird Sanctuary etc. Eravikulam and Devikulam lakes along with Elavizhapunchira lakes are some of the natural lakes to visit.

 4 .Silent Valley

 Silent Valley its name,may make you feel and hear things you could never have imagined. Located in the northeast corner of palakkad district,In 1984 it was named as national park.It was called "Sairandhrivanam". This 90 sq. Km precious chunk of dense forest is perhaps India’s largest and oldest tropical rain forest remaining undisturbed and half concealed that is part of a story older than the mankind. It is core of Nilgiri Biosphere reserve and part of Western Ghats World Heritage Site recognised by UNESCO. Being home to rare and endemic species of flora and fauna, it is part of world’s 34 wildlife biodiversity hotspot. You cannot miss the chance to see 34 species of mammals which includes endangered lion-tailed macaque and Nilgiri Langur. You can enjoy your stay at the  cabins of treetop resorts. Silent Valley has never been silent. Towering bamboos whistle when you pass through them. There is a unique song and fragrance that fills the air which makes it easy to fall in love with the forest.

 5. Nelliampathi

The height of the hills ranges from approximately  467m to 1572 m and it has an extremely calming effect on all who view it.To reach Nelliyampathy,one has to take the road starting from Nenmara that proceeds to the Pothundy Dam.The Pothundy Dam is beautiful with facilities for boating and is a nice option as a picnic place .At certain places there are viewpoints from where the stretches of Palakkad district are visible with its extensive paddy fields .
On the way ,there who are interested in bio farming can have a look at the privately managed farms and also vast expanses of tea estates managed by different plantation companies.The hills of Nelliyampathy are also well known for its orange cultivation.
